Options in Life has written to the current and incoming Principals of the new merged Fife colleges and the land based colleges, the Leader of Fife Council, Fife’s MP, North East Fife’s MSP, the Scottish Funding Council and the Minister for Education & Lifelong Learning. Our correspondence is not completed, but we will publish our conclusions or a position statement should further action take longer than we expect.
In the meantime the Adult programme at Elmwood College has not gone ahead given that insufficient students were in a position to pay the fee, which was only introduced and announced shortly before the course was due to start.
We have also made it known that we intend to press for reinstatement of the course, particularly since most of the prospective students have found no alternative and still wish to attend college.
